Coolum Theatre Players are pleased to offer a hands-on lighting workshop at the Coolum Civic Centre, led by Caitie Elliott.

This practical session will introduce participants to the fundamentals of stage lighting, including an overview of lighting equipment, basic lighting principles, programming cues, and creating mood and atmosphere for performance. The workshop will also cover simple troubleshooting techniques to build confidence when operating lighting during a production.

Suitable for beginners or anyone looking to expand their technical theatre skills, this workshop provides a supportive environment to learn and gain practical experience.

An excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills and get involved behind the scenes at CTP productions.  

Workshop outline:

• – Introduction to stage lighting equipment and terminology
• – Understanding different types of lights and their uses
• – Basic lighting principles (visibility, angle, colour, intensity)
• – Overview of the lighting desk and programming simple cues
• – Using lighting to create mood and support storytelling
• – Troubleshooting common lighting issues
• – Hands-on practice and Q&A

This workshop is FREE for members of the Coolum Theatre Players and $15 for non-members (which provides you with membership and members prices to our shows for the following year)
