Julie Delmore, our long-time committee member and stage manager, and a well-known Sunshine Coast theatre stalwart was awarded life membership by the Coolum Theatre Players at its AGM this month. Pictured below left with CTP President Mallory Young, Julie has served on the CTP committee for six year and has stage managed 17 CTP productions over the last 10 years, and in total has played an active part in 138 shows, either on stage, behind the scenes or sometimes both simultaneously! Currently the stage manager for Diplomatic Relations, Julie’s dedication to the theatre community has also been reflected in her generosity in passing on her extensive knowledge of stage management to new and less experienced volunteers.
Commenting after the AGM, Julie said: “I have loved helping to bring all of my Directors’ visions to fruition. I have loved the hundreds of talented actors and actresses that I have worked with. I have loved all of my tech crews and backstage crews, without whom there would be no show. But most of all, I have loved the feeling of ‘family’ that the committee of Coolum Theatre Players espouses. I am humbled and honoured and looking forward to the next 10!”
Have you missed us? We’ve missed you! It feels like forever since we were on the point of welcoming audiences to enjoy a good night out seeing our comedy, Diplomatic Relations. Our hopes were dashed by Covid-19 at the last minute and boy, were we disappointed. Even worse – so were you, our faithful theatre fans.
Now, with the recent opening of our venue, Coolum Civic Centre, and with a hefty Covid Safety Plan all drawn up to keep everyone in the venue safe, we’re blowing the cobwebs off our stage set and everyone in the cast is brushing up their lines. All we need now is the final confirmation of our performance dates – which we hope to be able to tell you very shortly!
We’ll also keep you posted on news about Diplomatic Relations and our 2021 season via our monthly newsletter and our Facebook page (see links below).
