Dr Richard Lurve has finished 400th out of 399 graduates from medical school.

Known more for his partying and womanizing, his chances of getting employed are grim. Then a posting becomes available at St Wretched’s, an ailing hospital in regional Queensland.

Elated to have a job, Dr Lurve soon discovers that all is not as it seems at this hospital where the mysterious “Syringe of Shame” has created havoc.

The crazy characters he meets will sing, dance, improvise and brave their way through the hilarious storyline which features plenty of local references, topical events and laugh out loud moments along with a little bit of audience interaction and a whole lot of fun!

We had such a great time at AUDITIONS last night for our next CTP production Dr Lurve & The Syringe of Shame.

This original comedy will be making its Queensland debut in July this year, following on from its sell out success in WA when it was first written and performed.

We have one more audition tomorrow night - Wednesday April 3rd - at the Coolum Civic Centre, Park Street, Coolum Beach, at 7.30pm

Come along, have some fun, laugh, dance, sing, audition and give it a go!

Lots of great roles with larger-than-life comedic characters in a strange but wonderful hospital called St Wretched's.

Auditions - Dr Lurve & The Syringe of Shame
Written and directed by Lisa and Kevin Blair

Rehearsals: Monday and Wednesday evenings
Show dates: July 10, 12, 13, 14, 19 and 20

Make a Night of It

Seating for the vast majority of our shows is tables of 8 (see here). Please note that you don’t have to book a whole table and we can’t add extra chairs).

You’re encouraged to bring nibbles & wine/beer (cups provided, no unmixed spirits please). We’re BYO only – there are a couple of bottle shops within easy walking distance and some great restaurants for pre-show dining.

All of our shows are, of course, live theatre and this means that we can’t rewind the action – therefore, popping that champagne cork/opening those crisps mid-show is a no-no. Please open your goodies before the action starts on stage.

Our shows are performed at the Coolum Civic Centre, Park Street, Coolum – click here for more information.
