It’s turning out to be the worst ever day in the chaotic life of Hamish Carruthers, playboy husband of the Australian Ambassador to Guaranguay. His current squeeze Lisa, the passionate Guaranguayan Finance Minister, won’t take no for answer, then ex-lover Kimberley turns up out of the blue with a shocking lack of clothing. And that’s not Hamish’s only problem because $2million has mysteriously vanished from the Embassy safe and there’s a bean counter from Canberra poking around in the embassy accounts. Wife Miranda is keeping a suspicious eye on Hamish, but is she as squeaky clean as she looks?
Written by Geoff Bamber and directed by Janet Marshall, Diplomatic Relations reveals the secrets, lies and naughty goings-on in an hilarious evening of entertainment from Coolum Theatre Players.

Friday, April 3 & Saturday, April 4 at 7.30pm, Sunday, April 5 at 2pm.
Why not make a night of it and bring your friends and family?
For a relaxed and fun evening, our seats are arranged around tables of 8 and you can bring your own drinks and snacks, kick back and enjoy the show with friends – or make new friends! (see seating plan here). You can also buy individual tickets if you don’t want to book a whole table. Sorry, but we can’t add extra chairs, however, we will aim to keep your group members close together if you book early – our shows tend to sell out fast. If you or any member of your party has special needs, for example, uses a wheelchair or other mobility aid, please advise us when you buy tickets or shortly afterwards so we can do our best to make sure you have a great evening. Contact us through this website or via Messenger.
We encourage you to bring nibbles & wine/beer (cups provided, no unmixed spirits please). We’re BYO only – there are a couple of bottle shops within easy walking distance and some great restaurants for pre-show dining. Soft drinks and tea or coffee are available for purchase in the foyer.
All of our shows are, of course, live theatre and this means that we can’t rewind the action – therefore, popping that champagne cork/opening those crisps mid-show is a no-no. Please open your goodies before the action starts on stage to ensure that no-one around you is disturbed.
Our shows are performed at the Coolum Civic Centre, Park Street, Coolum – click here for more information.
