AUDITIONS REMINDER! 🎭 🎭

Tonight and Wednesday (August 5 & 7) Coolum Theatre Players are holding open auditions for the musical stage show “We Will Rock You”, featuring the music of Queen.

The musical tells the story of a group of Bohemians who struggle to restore the free exchange of thought, fashion, and live music in a distant future where everyone dresses, thinks and acts the same. Musical instruments and composers are forbidden, and rock music is all but unknown.

Now that “Killer Queen” and her company “Global Soft” have taken over the internet and all forms of media, no music can be created that doesn’t conform to the norm. No-one can express individuality, creativity or real emotion.
But one day, someone, a “dreamer”, will appear to bring back real music!

Director Linda Gefken says that most roles may be played by any sex, but all roles require singing, dancing and acting, although there may be feature dancing/ acrobatics if your skills demand to be shown off.

** Please note that this is an adult production (nominally 17-77 years old) and as such is not suitable for children to audition.

Audition script and song excerpts must be downloaded and prepared. These are available from the Coolum Theatre Players website at coolumtheatre.com.au/auditions/

Please note that all songs must be performed in the keys in the song books.

Audition times are 7.30pm, you only need to attend ONE of the nights. Arrive from 7pm onwards to fill in paperwork and have a photo taken.

Rehearsals for this production will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings and performances are in late November/ early December.

Auditions, rehearsals and performances will all be held at the Coolum Civic Centre Park Street Coolum Beach.
