Oh dear, Smelle, Belle’s not so beautiful sister, played by Paris Williment, is trying to win the heart of Carlos, the town’s handsome bachelor played by Harper Ramsey!

Paris Williment was the 2014 recipient of Coolum Theatre Players’ Bursary and Adjudicator’s (Margi Brown Ash) Award for her performances in the Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival.  She played Alice in Coolum’s 2015 production, ‘Alice in Wonderland’, also directed by Johanna Wallace.  Her bursary was invested into a NIDA course and Queensland Theatre’s residency week, before beginning the first of three years completing her high school education at specialty arts school QACI (Queensland Academy for Creative Industries).  Through QACI she has studied Theatre and Film, and performed in Steven Mitchell Wright’s adaption of ‘Girls Like That.’  Paris is in charge of creating and maintaining QACI’s costuming department.

 

Harper comes from a family with long involvement in the arts and started acting with Drama Fun’s home school drama class at age 8.  His first notable role was playing Scar in an adaptation of The Lion King.  He spent 3 years with the Eumundi Indee Theatre, performing in multiple pantomimes and plays;  he also began to study other aspects of performing including dance and voice.  In 2015, Harper joined Little Seed Theatre Company.  Since then he has immersed himself in the varied classes and workshops with guest tutors covering physical theatre, character development, improvisation and musical theatre.  He’s currently participating in the Secondary Acting Masterclass and is a teen mentor to the Primary Acting Masterclass.  Harper was awarded CTPs $1,000 Arts Bursary at the Youth Theatre Festival 2016, by Brisbane Adjudicator Daniel Evans.
